The 3rd Workshop in “Health Economics” – 6 June 2015

The 3rd edition of the workshop on “Health Economics” will be hosted by the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Business and Administration, as a part of the 7th International Conference in Economics and Administration, ICEA 2015, and it is supported by the International Journal of Health Economics, an official publication of University of Bucharest.

The workshop invites conceptual and empirical papers in the field of Health Economics, aiming at bringing into the light the domain of health of population in an economically approach, as a topic of interest all over the world. By promoting Health Economics as one of the important areas existing in a national economy, we want to create premises that should emphasize economic approach of health system with all current deficiencies available worldwide. For this purpose, the workshop aims to be a distribution channel for health economics researches, contributing to theory and practice development in this domain of knowledge.

Topics to be discussed in this workshop include (but are not limited to) the following:

·         Impact of information and technology on health determinants
·         Economic evaluation of the performance of health care systems
·         Production of health and health services
·         The effects of health on economic growth
·         Models of financing health services
·         Roles of information, technology and innovation in health policies
·         Health information technology
·         E-health at the intersection of medical informatics, public health and business
·         Economic aspects on health insurance markets
·         Measurement of health at the individual and population level
·         Behavioral models of demanders, suppliers and other health care agencies
·         Cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses
·         Welfare economics in relation with health indicators
·         Health care externalities and technological changes
·         Quality of life and health
·         Economics of ageing and its impact on health sector
·         Economics of mental health
·         Health reforms in (East)-European countries

Submission

Prospective authors should note that only original and previously unpublished articles will be considered.The length of the submitted manuscript should fall between 5,500 to 8,000 words. The papers will be subjected to a double blind review process and, in case of acceptance, the author or one of the co-authors should be available to present the paper at the conference.
